Daily Talker: Virtual Doctor Visits

Seeing the doctor doesn’t have to mean actually going to their office. Boston-based American Well is now providing virtual visits for patients in Massachusetts.
Doctors are available on the site via live video around the clock every day of the year. No appointment is needed, and doctors are able to prescribe common medications like antibiotics. The site works with a computer, tablet or smartphone.
The company says online doctor visits at the site cost $49, compared to a statewide average of $85 for an urgent care visit.
Would you be willing to see a doctor online? Or do you think health care is more effective when you see your provider in person? Share your comments below. (Source: WBZ-TV - Breaking News, Weather and Sports for Boston, Worcester and New Hampshire)
