C8 Science Panel Finds Link To Testicular, Kidney Cancer

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. - The science panel established pursuant to a 2005 settlement in the Wood County, W.Va., Circuit Court between residents of the Ohio River valley and E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. issued a report April 16 in which it concludes that there is a probable link between perfluorooctanoate (PFOA) exposure and increased risk of testicular and kidney cancers; the panel previously announced a probable link of exposure to pregnancy-induced hypertension (Jack W. Leach, et al. v. E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co., No. 01-608, W.Va. Cir., Wood Co.; See 2/7/12, Page 34). (Source: LexisNexis® Mealey's™ Emerging Toxic Torts Legal News)
